Picking the right paint color
Why we love this easy to use program from
Sherwin-Williams
If you follow us on social media, you've seen us poke fun at the hilarious names. Picking the right hue is a big commitment, not only financially but for long term use in your home, either to live in or to get market ready. The color better be spot on...no pressure, right?
We've tried out this program to help our clients visualize the end product. Here's some questions to consider before looking at paint cards and marveling at the creative color names.
1. What rooms are you painting?
2. What finish (gloss, semi-gloss or flat) would apply to use of room?
3. Why are you painting? For re-sale or custom to your design?
4. What trends and colors do you like?
5. Are you trying to match a specific color to a fabric or decor piece?
Once you've narrowed down why and what you want to paint, pick at least three different colors. Take a picture of the room and upload to Sherwin Williams Color tools to see how each color will look in your home.
We do recommend getting each color in the Color to Go sample size and test out the colors before finalizing. See how each hue reacts in your lighting. Pay attention to how it reflects in daylight and at night.
Picking out paint color has become an easier task with handy tech tools like the Color Visualizer from Sherwin Williams. You get a chance to try out different colors before committing to a color.
